Lil Wayne took to Instagram Thursday to officially announce the latest entry in his staple album series, Tha Carter VI.
The news comes a day after Wayne posted that he wouldn’t be attending this weekend’s Super Bowl in his Instagram Stories.
Before the NFL announced Kendrick Lamar as this year’s headliner, there was speculation Tune would be performing, considering the game is being played in Wayne’s hometown of New Orleans. Since then, however, Lil Wayne has given K. Dot his blessing and encouraged him to have a good show.
The last installment of Lil Tunechi’s Tha Carter series came with 2018’s Tha Carter V. According to Chart Data, each of Lil Wayne’s last three Tha Carter albums debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200.
