My First Time: Slim Jxmmi Remembers His First Time Getting Twerked On

The design of a decade can vary depending on how you spend it, be it working on a degree, raising a family or embarking on a hip-hop takeover alongside your younger brother leading to platinum-selling records and accolades to match. Rapper Slim Jxmmi can luckily make claim to the latter thanks to the success he and brother Swae Lee have experienced as the award-winning rap duo, Rae Sremmurd, who this year celebrate the 10-year anniversary of their double platinum debut album, SremmLife.

All five singles released for the project reached multiplatinum status, and that’s just before the viral takeover of “Black Beatles”!

After having the pleasure last week of Swae Lee join us on “My First Time,” Slim Jxmmi comes through this week with his own story to tell. Taking us back to the good ol’ days of skate rink parties, the now-33-year-old hitmaker talks of his 10-year-old self and the confidence he had to build up in order to get girls to dance with him. While twerk lessons wouldn’t necessarily be what you’d want your preteen to be doing with their spare time, at least we can say it taught young Slim the tools he would need to become a rock star later in life. As you’ll see in the demonstration he gives in the clip below, his twerk-handling skills have advanced with age.
