Remember when Vice President J.D. Vance was first announced as President Donald Trump’s running mate and MAGA bigots immediately blew up over Vance having an Indian wife with whom he had three Indian children whom the couple gave traditionally Indian names? Remember how he responded to the racist backlash with a weak, discompassionate and mild rebuke of those racists that almost sounded like an apology for his wife being non-white?

Well, now Vance has one-upped himself by outright defending a self-proclaimed racist who made racist remarks about how “Indian hate” should be normalized.

Before we get into what Vance said, let’s talk about the bigot who thinks America should “normalize” hate against the VP’s immediate family members.

Meet Marko Elez.

After his racist remarks were recently exposed, Elez was fired from Trump’s Department of Government Efficiency, which is headed by pseudo-tech genius and Trump puppet master Elon Musk, a racist who asked his fellow racists if the racist who was formerly employed by the presidential racist should be rehired by the department. Predictably, Musk’s followers overwhelmingly said yes, the racist should be brought back to his government role.

Notice how Musk isn’t even willing to utter the word “racist,” so he chose a softer, more white people-friendly term like “inappropriate” to describe Elez posting that people should “normalize Indian hate” and boasting that “just for the record, I was racist before it was cool.”

Anyway, J.D. Vance agrees with the racism apologists online, and he joined Musk in avoiding even calling it racism at all. Not only that, but Vance also suggested that journalists calling out racism was the larger offense, not the racism itself.

From Raw Story:

Writing on X, Vance argued that “I obviously disagree with some of Elez’s posts, but I don’t think stupid social media activity should ruin a kid’s life.”

Vance added that “we shouldn’t reward journalists who try to destroy people… so I say bring him back. If he’s a bad dude or a terrible member of the team, fire him for that.”

“The VP of the United States says it’s worse to be a journalist shining a light on racist behavior than it is to say racist things,” wrote journalist Ryan Satin. “Insane. This man has an Indian wife and children, and doesn’t even have the balls to stand up against racism towards them. What a bad husband and dad.”

“Elez wanted to normalize Indian hate, you’re standing up for him, and your wife is Indian,” commented another of Vance’s followers. “Usha deserves way better bro.”

“Defending the kid who called for normalizing ‘Indian hate’ how does this dude go home and look his wife and kids in the face,” wonderedKevin Saucedo-Broach.

Other followers took issue with Vance describing the 25-year-old Enez as a “kid,” particularly when the Trump administration gave him access to some of the most sensitive data collected by the United States federal government.

“So he’s a racist kid with no impulse control, but he should have access to the system that doles out trillions of dollars of the federal budget and see all of our personal information,” wrote journalist Emily Singer.

Of course, no one should be surprised that Vance is still a coward who doesn’t have a shred of integrity. Obviously, the man who spread xenophobic hate speech about Haitian immigrants eating pets in Springfield, Ohio and then spread more lies about Haitians causing a spike in HIV cases in Ohio while doubling down on the pet-eating lie — isn’t a person who is going to push back on this sort of bigotry, even if his own wife and children are implicated.

After all, J.D. Vance used to hate Republican racism almost as much as he used to hate Trump — and now it seems he loves or at least willfully tolerates them both.

Sad!
