Detectives arrest Ohio man accused in 2019 sexual assault of a minor on Isle of Palms

ISLE OF PALMS, S.C. (WCBD) – An Ohio man is facing charges in connection with a 2019 sexual assault that involved a minor.

Sgt. Matt Storen with the Isle of Palms Police Department announced the arrest of 54-year-old Dillon Ronald Ashton of Pimberville, Ohio on a charge of criminal solicitation of a minor under 16.

Ashton turned himself into Isle of Palms detectives at the Al Cannon Detention Center on Wednesday morning.

His arrest comes after officers were notified by a member of Dee Norton Child Advocacy Center that a victim came forward with information of an assault that happened back in 2019.
