Coroner IDs passenger killed during pursuit in Charleston Co.
CHARLESTON COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – The Charleston County Coroner has identified the passenger killed during a police pursuit on Wednesday.
Joshua Richardson, 31, of James Island, died at the scene on Fort Johnson Road at approximately 9:49 p.m. from injuries sustained in the collision, according to the coroner.
As previously reported, Lance Cpl. Lena Butler with the South Carolina Highway Patrol said a 2007 Dodge Charger was attempting to evade law enforcement when the vehicle ran off the road and hit a tree.
The driver and one passenger were injured, while Richardson, the second passenger, died at the scene.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol is the investigating police agency.
