Severe weather on Wednesday: Wind gusts could reach 50 mph
CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – Storm Team 2 forecasts a severe weather threat across the southeast on Wednesday, with the risk of high wind gusts.
Meteorologist Grace Lowe said showers will begin across the state around 7 a.m. on Wednesday. Within the stronger storms, the Lowcountry could see higher wind gusts.
Storm Team 2 says flooding is not a concern at this time.
“Pushing off shore by 1 or 2 o’clock, this isn’t going to be an all day issue but something that can seriously pack a punch – especially into late Wednesday,” said Lowe.
Along the line of storms expected on Wednesday, forecasts show isolated pockets of wind gusts that could reach up to 45 to 50 mph.
“If you have the chance today, make sure you bring in those loose items in your yard inside,” Lowe added.
Heading into Thursday morning, windy conditions remain around 20 – 25 mph but will decrease into the morning hours.
