Crews responding to fire at West Ashley apartment complex

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) — Crews are responding Tuesday afternoon to a structure fire at an apartment complex in West Ashley.

The Charleston Police Department said it is assisting the Charleston Fire Department with a fire at 1800 Willliam Kennerty Drive.

The roadway remained closed to traffic at Highway 61 as of 2:10 p.m.

The public is asked to avoid the area.
