Moncks Corner police investigating train vs vehicle crash

MONCKS CORNER, S.C. (WCBD) – Authorities are investigating a Wednesday night crash between a train and a vehicle in Moncks Corner.

The Moncks Corner Police Department said the collision happened in the area of Altman Street on the train tracks. There are injuries from the collision.

According to the Berkeley County calls for service log, a train derailment and collision occurred on Altman St. at 6:19 p.m. The Berkeley County Coroner’s Office is on the scene.

Police say the road will be shutdown for an “extended amount of time,” and said drivers should use an alternative route.
