Will Smith Joins the Viral ‘Anxiety’ Challenge with Doechii and Tatyana Ali
On March 13th, Will Smith joined the viral “Anxiety” challenge, taking it to new heights alongside Doechii.
The actor’s participation surprised fans, as he added his unique touch to the trending TikTok challenge, showcasing his ability to stay connected to current cultural moments.
In his video, Smith bops his head to the haunting lyrics, “Somebody’s watchin’ me, it’s my anxiety,” while gazing into a mirror.
When he turns toward the camera, his reflection lingers behind, replaced by Doechii. The Hollywood star also made sure to acknowledge influencer Brooke Monk, who originally sparked the trend.
The song “Anxiety (Whatcha Gonna Do?)” by Doechii, which was released in late 2023, began gaining momentum more recently as the challenge exploded on social media.
The track features an eerie, hypnotic beat and reflective lyrics about dealing with anxiety, resonating deeply with listeners. Despite initially flying under the radar, “Anxiety” began gaining steam as more TikTok users adopted it for the challenge, giving the song the viral boost it deserved.
Doechii’s ability to blend introspective themes with a catchy, darkly infectious sound has made the song a perfect fit for the trend, and its sudden rise in popularity has introduced her unique style to a wider audience.
With countless “Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” edits flooding the challenge, it seemed inevitable that Smith would eventually join in.
Over the past week, TikTokers have been recreating a memorable scene from the show where Will joins Ashley Banks (played by Tatyana Ali) as she dances to her Walkman.
The challenge quickly gained traction, with both fans and celebrities adding their own creative twists.
In a separate post, Smith shared his excitement for the trend, writing,
“I’ve been watching y’all, and every video has been better than the last!! Love that track,”
while giving props to Doechii and Ali.
The following day, on March 14th, Smith took things further by recreating the classic dance scene with Tatyana Ali herself.
The duo brought back some serious nostalgia, and Doechii made a cameo at the end of the video.
Smith perfectly captured the moment, adding the caption, “
Waited 35 years for this dance to trend.”
