Worker dies after being runover at Santee Cooper steam plant, GCSO confirms

GEORGETOWN COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – An accident involving a vehicle at a Santee Cooper facility near Georgetown left a worker dead.

Officials with the Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office confirmed to News 2 that a worker was run over by a truck at the Pennyroyal Road steam plant.

Georgetown County’s coroner was called to the scene. Officials with the sheriff’s office said the worker died following the incident.
