1 dead, 3 injured after delayed fatal collision in Georgetown County
GEORGETOWN COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – A person has died nearly a week after a collision that sent three others to the hospital, state troopers say.
The driver of a 2016 Chevrolet Malibu was traveling north on Saint Delight Road around 1:26 p.m. on March 21 when their vehicle collided with a Chrysler Pacifica going east on High Market Street.
EMS arrived and took the Malibu driver to the hospital, where they died Thursday from injuries sustained in the collision, according to Lance Cpl. Lena Butler.
The three passengers of the Chrysler were also taken to the hospital with injuries, although their condition was not released.
The Georgetown County Coroner’s Office has not yet identified the deceased. The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the collision.
