Woman wanted for questioning in connection to Colleton County homicide

COLLETON COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – Deputies in Colleton County are searching for a woman who is considered a person of interest in connection to a homicide that occurred over the weekend in Walterboro.

39-year-old Jessica Ann Cooke is wanted for questioning by the Colleton County Sheriff’s Office, the agency said Tuesday.

Her last known address was a residence in Varnville, Hampton County. If anyone has information on Cooke, contact the sheriff’s office at 843-549-2211 or visit the anonymous tip portal linked.

She is about five feet tall and weighs 136 pounds, with brown eyes and blonde hair.

Deputies responded to an address on Quail Drive around 9:30 a.m. Sunday after receiving a call about a man lying in a yard who was covered in blood.

Authorities said the man was dead when crews arrived on the scene.

“While the exact manner of death remains undetermined, the case is being treated as a homicide,” the sheriff’s office said.
