Crews to begin road improvements on Jenny Lind Street and S Antler Drive Thursday morning

CHARLESTON COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – Crews will begin work Thursday morning to replace portions of two Charleston County roads.

The project will take place between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Jenny Lind Street and S Antler Drive.

County officials explained that the process, called full-depth reclamation, includes removing and recycling existing roadway materials to fully reconstruct the road, which is a more sustainable and cost-effective alternative to traditional paving.

“Weather permitting, this process is expected to be completed in two weeks. During that time, residents should avoid parking along the impacted roadways,” the county said.

Temporary, intermittent lane closures are possible; however, county officials said crews will make every attempt to minimize disruption.

Drivers are encouraged to use caution when traveling through the work area and to comply with traffic control measures.
