Expo held in North Charleston as racers prep for annual Bridge Run

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – It’s almost race day, but before you lace up those sneakers, you’ll want to head to the Bridge Run Expo in North Charleston to collect your race day bib and browse a large selection of fitness booths.

Thousands of runners and walkers are getting ready for the Cooper River Bridge Run on Saturday, but the pre-race expo is the place to be on Thursday or Friday. There, participants will pick up their race packets and walk through the vendor hall in search of items that could make the 10K run a little easier.

The Bridge Run Expo opens Thursday from noon until 8 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. at the Charleston Area Convention Center (5001 Coliseum Drive, North Charleston).

Racers will pick up their packet, including race bib, computer timing chip, event information, sponsor gifts, and a Cooper River Bridge Run t-shirt.

Nearly 200 vendors will also be on hand, offering athletic apparel, nutritional items, tips for running over the bridge, fitness demonstrations, and plenty of giveaways.

There will be no packet pickup on race day, so carve out time to visit the expo on Thursday or Friday before the run.

Saturday’s run begins at 8:00 a.m. in Mount Pleasant. Racers should be in their corral by 7:00 a.m. Click here for more information about the expo.
