Motorcyclist killed in Saturday night crash near Ridgeville

BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – A motorcyclist was killed in a Saturday night crash near Ridgeville.

The crash happened shortly before 10 p.m. on Highway 27 near Jared Lane.

Master Trooper Mitchell Ridgeway with the South Carolina Highway Patrol said the driver of a 2012 Harley Davidson motorcycle was headed south on SC 27 when they lost control, ran off the road, struck a barrier wall, and spilled into the roadway.

The motorcyclist died at the scene.

Trooper Ridgeway said the crash is under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
