Moncks Corner crash causes traffic diversion at busy intersection

MONCKS CORNER, S.C. (WCBD) – Traffic is being diverted through parking lots at a busy Moncks Corner intersection following a collision, police said Thursday evening.

The traffic lights at the intersection of US Highway 52 and Cypress Gardens Road are inoperable due to a collision. Police are diverting traffic through the parking lots of the Sphinx and Circle K at the intersection while the lights are out.

The South Carolina Department of Transportation has crews on the scene working to resolve the issue and get the lights back on.

Both drivers in the two-car collision were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
