6 arrested after drug investigation at Goose Creek home
GOOSE CREEK, S.C. (WCBD) – Six individuals were arrested Wednesday after deputies with the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office conducted a search warrant at a home.
The sheriff’s office received several tips about possible illegal drug activity at a home on Plainfield Avenue in February.
That led to the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Task Force searching the home in the Sedgefield subdivision and recovering trafficking amounts of narcotics.
The following individuals were charged as a result of the search:
Eddie Devore was charged with trafficking cocaine and trafficking crack cocaine.
Jason Gantt was charged with possession with intent to distribute cocaine and possession with intent to distribute a schedule I–III controlled substance.
Carolynn Wright was charged with possession of crack cocaine and possession of a schedule I-V controlled substance.
Earl White was charged with possession of crack cocaine.
Leroy Reid was charged with possession of crack cocaine.
Dniyah Green was charged with unlawful neglect of a child.
In addition, active arrest warrants were issued for Schantrice Rutledge for trafficking cocaine and trafficking crack cocaine.
Law enforcement seized the following substance from the home:
- 86.78 grams of Crack Cocaine
- 15.56 grams of cocaine
- 56.25 grams of Marijuana
- 19 dosage units of Oxycodone
- 1 dosage unit of Alprazolam
“This case highlights the importance of community involvement in helping us keep our neighborhoods safe.” Berkeley County Sheriff Duane Lewis stated. “I encourage our citizens to continue to report suspicious behavior to us. We are committed to investigating and shutting down drug distribution operations throughout Berkeley County.”
