Suspect in Reevesville shooting facing murder charge

DORCHESTER COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – The Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office announced Monday charges against a man accused in a deadly April 9 shooting.

Deputies responded to a home off Wire Road, where they found 31-year-old Jeremy G. Britt dead from gunshot wounds he received during a family altercation.

The suspect, Camren Deroy Ravenell, 31, was located in the backyard of the home and taken into custody without incident.

He has since been charged with murder and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime.

An investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
