No Scrubs, Just Legends: TLC’s Remarkable Story Of Sisterhood Will Be Told In Upcoming ‘CrazySexyCool – The Musical’

Tionne “T-Boz” Wakins, Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes, and Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas, better known as TLC, shaped the sound of the ’90s and changed what it meant to be women in the music industry. Now, the story of the Grammy Award-winning trio will make its way to stages across the country. Produced by Bill Diggins’ Diggit Theatrical Group, CrazySexyCool – The Musical will celebrate the most successful female group of all time. Tony Award-nominated Stephen Gabriel serves as executive producer.
There are countless reasons why the group was so influential: their chart-topping hits, strong messages of female empowerment and self-determination, their statuses as fashion icons and their overall chemistry are just a few. Now visionary writer and director Kwame Kwei-Armah (One Love: The Bob Marley Musical) brings TLC’s (mostly true) story of unshakable sisterhood to the stage. The show will feature a powerhouse cast, high-octane choreography by Chloe O. Davis and multi-platinum hits ‘Ain’t 2 Proud 2 Beg,’ ‘Waterfalls,’ ‘Creep,’ ‘Unpretty,’ and of course ‘No Scrubs.’ Fans will be able to go beyond the fiery scandals, explosive creative clashes, and harrowing tragedies to experience the remarkable story of defiance, triumph and love.
“TLC completely changed the game,” said producer Bill Diggins. “Their music gave a voice to women everywhere, empowering them to be confident and unapologetic. But this isn’t just a story about the music; it’s about the sisterhood between these women and what kept them together through both unimaginable challenges and chart-topping success.”
“Bringing this story to the stage is a dream come true,” said Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins. “We have performed in a lot of different venues all over the world throughout our career, but bringing our story and music to the theater is a totally new and exciting challenge.”
“We have some of the best people in the business working on this project,” said Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas. “Audiences will get to hear our story – mostly fact with a sprinkle of fiction – told in our own way, and of course it’s set to all your favorite hits!”
CrazySexyCool – The Musical will make its world premiere at Arena Stage in Washington, DC in June 2026 for 8 weeks as part of their 75th Anniversary Season. For more information and to sign up for exclusive content, news and offers, please visit www.CrazySexyCoolMusical.com.
