NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – Candidates vying to become the next North Charleston councilmember representing District 3 are expected to participate in an upcoming forum.
The Northwood Estates Civic League will host the candidate forum on Tuesday, May 13, inside the gym at Northwood Park (8348 Greenridge Road). The event will begin at 6:30 p.m., doors open at 6 p.m.
Organizers tell News 2 that all seven candidates running for the seat have confirmed their participation. They include Donnie Singleton, Demetria McNeil, John Peterson, Lou Baker, Maurice Moe Ray, Dr. Stephanie Ganaway-Pasley, and Travis Walthall.
Members of the community can submit their questions for the candidates by emailing Monica Mumme at [email protected].
A special election is set for May 27 to replace former District 3 councilman Sandino Moses, who was charged in February for his alleged role in a public corruption investigation. Moses pleaded guilty to a ‘misprision of a felony’ charge during a court appearance in late February.
