Coroner identifies man shot after illegally entering Summerville home
DORCHESTER COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – Dorchester County’s coroner identified Thursday a man who was shot and killed during an attempted home invasion.
Richard Williams, 42, of Summerville, was shot after illegally entering a home on Hope Drive around 1:25 a.m. Wednesday, according to Coroner Paul Brouthers.
Williams was pronounced dead at the scene at 7:27 a.m.
He will undergo an autopsy at the Medical University of South Carolina on Tuesday.
The Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office and Dorchester County Coroner’s Office are investigating.
