Parking passes no longer required for high school graduations at North Charleston Coliseum

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) — People attending high school graduations at the North Charleston Coliseum will not need parking passes this year, the city announced Thursday.

“This change reflects the city’s commitment to ensuring that families can celebrate this important milestone without unnecessary barriers,” a May 15 Facebook post stated.

City officials said there will be more time between ceremonies this year to ease traffic flow, in addition to increased signage and more personnel to help direct attendees to parking and exits.

Families and friends attending one of these events are encouraged to arrive early.

“The city remains focused on making this experience safe, smooth, and welcoming for all graduates and their families,” the post continued.

The venue will host more than a dozen graduation ceremonies through the end of May. A full list is available here.
