DORCHESTER COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – A 29-year-old man was arrested Saturday following a deadly shooting and altercation in the King’s Grant neighborhood.
The Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO) responded to multiple calls regarding a disturbance and shots fired shortly after 8:00 a.m.
“Callers reported the incident came to a head on Kensington Place. Drivers of two vehicles exchanged words. Subsequently, shots were fired, and one person was struck,” said Lt. Rick Carson with DCSO.
The victim – later identified by the Dorchester County Coroner’s Office as 30-year-old Zachary Campbell of Summerville – died at the scene.
Lt. Carson said the other driver was detained and cooperated in the investigation.
“This evening detectives from the Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office served an arrest warrant on Michael Anthony Pressley II, 29, of Ladson. Pressley has been charged with Voluntary Manslaughter,” the sheriff’s office said.
Campbell will undergo an autopsy at the Medical University of South Carolina on Tuesday.
