Motorcyclist killed in crash with 18 wheeler

RIDGEVILLE, S.C. (WCBD) – A motorcyclist was killed during a Friday night crash in Ridgeville.

Troopers with the South Carolina Highway Patrol responded to a motorcycle versus 18 wheeler crash on US 17-A.

Dorchester County Coroner Paul Brouthers said the motorcyclist was attempting a left turn from a private drive when he was struck by the truck around 8:15 p.m.

William Morgan, 71, of Adams Run, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol and Dorchester County Coroner’s Office are investigating.
