Aldersgate to open warming shelter on Monday and Tuesday
NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – A warming center will open in North Charleston this week with temperatures expected in the mid-to-upper 30s.
Holy City Missions will open its winter shelter at Aldersgate on Monday and Tuesday night.
Registration will be held between 7:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. each night unless otherwise arranged with shelter personnel. It will close the following morning at 7:00 a.m.
In addition to safe overnight lodging, guests will be provided a hot dinner, breakfast, and a gab-and-go lunch bag. Hot showers, warm clothes, and toiletries are also available.
The shelter is located at 1444 Remount Road in North Charleston. Those seeking transportation can board a CARTA bus for route 13 and request the Aldersgate Winter Warming Shelter.
There is a 75-person capacity, and the shelter operates on a first-come, first-served basis.
Pets are not allowed.
