Rain, thunderstorms, flooding likely Friday
CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – Widespread rain, some thunderstorms, and flooding are possible Friday across the Charleston area.
Storm Team 2 Meteorologist Josh Marthers said rain chances increase Friday with the most widespread rain expected by late afternoon and into the evening.
There is a flooding threat due to the risk of heavy rain coinciding with high tide during the evening hours. “Up and down the South Carolina coast – essentially the barrier islands, downtown Charleston, Georgetown – there is a risk of some flooding this evening as high tide and heavier rain come together,” said Marthers.
Some off-and-on showers are expected on Saturday, but the day shouldn’t be a washout. It will be breezy with highs around 70 to 75 degrees.
