Man charged in Feb. 1 shooting at mobile home park

DORCHESTER COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – Authorities arrested a man accused in a deadly February 1 shooting at a Dorchester County mobile home park.

Simeon Darius Boyd, 24, of Ridgeville was taken into custody by the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) and Berkeley County officials on April 3. He was then turned over to the Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office and taken to the L C Knight Dorchester County Detention Center.

Dorchester County deputies responded to the Delta Oaks Mobile Home Park on Appian Way where they found three people suffering injuries.

All three were taken to a local hospital for treatment; however, one of the victims – 20-year-old Darius Hooks – died at the hospital.

Boyd was denied bond during a Thursday hearing.
