NCPD responds to violent encounter between Sunoco employee and customer

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – The North Charleston Police Department (NCPD) responded to a gas station this morning following a violent encounter between an employee and a customer.

Officers responded to the Sunoco on Rivers Ave, and officials say upon arrival they found the store in disarray and the customer suffering from injuries behind the counter.

Harve Jacobs, the Public Information Officer for North Charleston, says there was a brief interaction between the officers and the customer while attempting to control and place him in custody.

Officials say the customer was transported unresponsive by EMS to a local hospital. The employee was treated by EMS and released on scene.
