Saturday fire damages Mount Pleasant Seafood
MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (WCBD) – A seafood market on Shem Creek was damaged in a Saturday evening fire.
Multiple fire crews responded to Mount Pleasant Seafood shortly before 8:00 p.m.
Owners of the seafood market told News 2 it appears the fire started in the oyster cooler. They said there is heavy damage to the business.
The fire was brought under control around 8:30 p.m.; however, Mount Pleasant fire crews remained on scene performing overhaul and ensuring fire was fully out.
Mount Pleasant Seafood has been operating on Shem Creek for more than 75 years.
