Motorcyclist killed in hit-and-run crash on Ladson Rd

DORCHESTER COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating after a motorcyclist was killed in a hit-and-run on Ladson Road Friday night.

Troopers say the collision occurred around 8:45 p.m. when a 2023 Kawaosoki motorcycle was traveling east on Ladson Rd when an unknown vehicle attempted to turn on Oakmount Ave and struck the side of the motorcycle.

The driver was ejected into the westbound lanes of Ladson Rd and was struck by another unknown vehicle, authorities say.

Officials say the driver is deceased and the rear passenger of the motorcycle was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The Dorchester County Coroner’s Office has not yet released the name of the victim.
