SC Ports warns of delayed opening operations Monday, could impact traffic
CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – Delayed opening operations at South Carolina Ports Authority locations could cause some traffic delays Monday morning.
Officials with the SC Ports said its marine terminals and inland ports will temporarily delay opening operations, including its gates, on Monday until 10:00 a.m.
Cargo pickup and drop off will not occur during the delay.
SC Ports officials said a software issue impacted a server and noted it did not appear to be a cybersecurity issue. They are working with their vendors to quickly resume operations.
The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) warned that traffic delays are possible in and around the terminals, especially during peak travel times.
“Drivers should plan ahead – visit sc511.org for the latest traffic information. Slow down if you encounter a traffic backup and stay alert for directional signage,” said SCDOT.
