Woman in critical condition after Rutledge Avenue hit and run
CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – The Charleston Police Department (CPD) is investigating an early Monday morning hit-and-run that critically injured a woman.
The hit-and-run happened near the parking lot of Rutledge Cab Company on Rutledge Avenue.
Police said a citizen called police around 1:30 a.m. to report a female pedestrian was struck by a vehicle that was entering the parking lot.
Witnesses told law enforcement they saw a burgundy vehicle driving away from the scene.
The victim was taken to the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) where officials say she remains in critical condition.
