PA Gov. Shapiro Urges us to ‘unite behind Vice President Harris’
Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro spoke out in support of Kamala Harris leading the Democratic Party in the 2024 Presidential race. News of President Biden’s withdrawal from the race has only drawn more uncertainty for the Democratic party.

Vice President Kamala Harris has agreed to lead the Democratic Party and run for President of the United States. As questions arise on who could be Harris’ running mate, one thing is for sure — Harris has the support of the Democratic Party to be the top candidate to lead the country.

Governor Shapiro endorsed the president in a public statement Sunday (July 21).
“The best path forward for the Democratic Party is to quickly unite behind Vice President Harris and refocus on winning the presidency,” Shapiro said in a statement on Sunday. “The contrast in this race could not be clearer and the road to victory in November runs right through Pennsylvania – where this collective work began. I will do everything I can to help elect Kamala Harris as the 47th President of the United States.”
Governor Shapiro also spoke on the lengthy acquaintance between the two. Sharing the same systematic beliefs has led to an bonded chemistry for nearly 20 years.
“I’ve known Kamala Harris for nearly two decades – we’ve both been prosecutors, we’ve both stood up for the rule of law, we’ve both fought for the people and delivered results,” the governor said.
The contrast in this race could not be clearer and the road to victory in November runs right through Pennsylvania – where this collective work began.

Suggestions from the Democratic party to run alongside Harris include: Gretchen Whitmer, (Michigan Gov.), Josh Shapiro (Pennsylvania Gov.). Roy Cooper, (North Carolina Gov.), Andy Beshear (Kentucky Gov.) and Sen. Mark Kelly (D., Ariz.), who endorsed Harris on Sunday,
US News listed Pennsylvania as a ‘swing state’ — considered to play a key role in the outcome of presidential elections.
As Governor, Shapiro could be someone to be on the lookout for as Harris’ running mate.
