Deputies search for person who ran from Dorchester County traffic stop

DORCHESTER COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – Deputies, K-9s, and drones were used to search for a person who ran from a Dorchester County traffic stop.

Deputies with the Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office pulled a vehicle over at the intersection of Central Avenue and Dubose Road around 9 p.m. Wednesday.

Officials tell News 2 that an individual took off from the vehicle after it stopped.

Drones and the county’s K-9 team assisted deputies in searching for the individual for several hours. A reverse 9-1-1 call was also sent to alert residents about the search.

A suspect was not located, and the search was eventually suspended.
