Berkeley County deputies arrest 2 men after reported carjacking on Highway 41

BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – Authorities arrested two men accused of carjacking a woman on Highway 41 last Sunday night.

The victim reported the incident to 9-1-1 around 11 p.m. and said that was hiding in the woods after being carjacked at gunpoint.

Deputies with the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office responded to her location and found the victim on the side of Highway 41, and told law enforcement that she was held at gunpoint and that her vehicle was stolen.

The victim directed deputies to the area where she was before the crime happened. Additional deputies responded to a home on Highpoint Circle and found her vehicle nearby.

Clyde Jaheim Davis, 18, and Matataiest Chavez Johnson, 18, of Huger, were arrested and charged with carjacking. They were booked into the Hill-Finklea Detention Center.
