1 injured in Mount Pleasant rollover crash involving tractor-trailer

MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (WCBD) – One person was taken to a local hospital following a rollover crash with entrapment Friday afternoon in Mount Pleasant.

Emergency crews responded to Highway 17 and Anna Knapp Boulevard around 12:30 p.m. for a tractor-trailer versus vehicle accident. Police said one of the vehicles rolled over, and that someone was entrapped.

A detour was in place while crews responded to the scene. The patient was “conscious and talking” while first responders worked to free them from the overturned vehicle.

Police later announced the entrapped person was extracted from the vehicle and taken to a hospital for treatment. The roadway has since reopened.
