Summerville man arrested on multiple counts for sexual exploitation of minor

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – Attorney General Alan Wilson announced the arrest of a Summerville man on multiple charges connected to the sexual exploitation of a minor.

Christopher Michael McCoy, 45, of Summerville was arrested on 13 charges connected to McCoy distributing and possessing files of child sexual abuse material, according to South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson.

Officials say McCoy was arrested on September 16 by the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force investigators with the Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office.

McCoy is charged with two counts of Sexual Exploitation of a Minor in the second degree, and 11 counts of Sexual Exploitation of a Minor in the third degree.

The Attorney General’s Office will prosecute the case, said officials.
