Closures, delays and cancellations announced Friday after TS Helene
CHARLESTON, S.C (WCBD) – Several local government offices are experiencing delays and closures on Friday due to the impact of Tropical Storm Helene.
COLLETON COUNTY:
Colleton County Government offices are closed on Friday. The county announced all nonessential Colleton County offices will be closed and will resume on Monday.
BERKELEY COUNTY:
Berkeley County facilities will have a two-hour delay and will open at 10 a.m. on Friday. County officials say the delay includes the Courthouse, Berkeley Animal Center, Cypress Gardens, all Library branches, the Berkeley County Landfill and Convenience Centers.
The City of Hanahan will open administrative offices and facilities at 10 a.m. Friday. Trash pickup will be delayed and is dependent on the operating hours of the Berkeley County Landfill, officials said.
Town of Moncks Corner will open all administrative offices at 10 a.m. Trash pickup will be delayed until 9 a.m.
City of Goose Creek offices will open at 10 a.m. Friday. Residential trash pickup will have a delayed start.
CHARLESTON COUNTY:
Charleston County offices and facilities will open at 12 p.m. on Friday.
The Folly Beach and McClellanville libraries will be closed on Friday. All other branches will open at 12 p.m.
Isle of Palms City Hall and Recreation Center will delay opening until 10 a.m. Friday due to ongoing storm and tornado warnings.
The Town of James Island will open offices at 12 p.m. due to heavy winds
First Baptist School of Charleston has canceled school and athletic activities
South Carolina Aquarium will open at 12 p.m.
WILLIAMSBURG COUNTY:
Williamsburg County Government offices are closed on Friday. All recycling sites will also be closed.
DORCHESTER COUNTY:
Dorchester County Government offices will operate on a two-hour delay, opening at 11 a.m. on Friday. Convenience sites are operating on regularly scheduled hours.
