1 dead, 1 in custody after shooting at Moncks Corner apartment complex

MONCKS CORNER, S.C. (WCBD) – One man is dead and another is in custody after a shooting at a Moncks Corner apartment complex, police say.

According to Steve Young, Moncks Corner Police Chief, officers were dispatched Thursday around 12:20 p.m. to the Plantation Apartments in Moncks Corner.

The shooting happened near a playground area of the apartment complex.

Officials say a man was shot and killed. Officers took a male suspect into custody Thursday afternoon.

Officers on the scene believe the shooting happened after an argument.

Moncks Corner Police Department is investigating.
