Woman, 93, found dead outside Elm Road home

CHARLESTON COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – A 93-year-old woman was identified Wednesday in a Charleston County death investigation.

Deputies with the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence on Elm Road over the weekend after receiving reports of an unresponsive female at the address.

The woman, Helen Waugh, was found dead outside of her home when emergency crews arrived.

Charleston County Coroner Bobbi Jo O’Neal said the cause and manner of death are pending autopsy.

CCSO’s Criminal Investigations Division, Forensic Services Unit, and the Charleston County Coroner’s Office responded to the scene. An investigation is ongoing.
