Dogtoberfest returns to Freshfields Village with Pet Expo and Costume Contest

KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. (WCBD) – Freshfields Village is hosting its annual Dogtoberfest on Saturday, October 19, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on the village green.

This free, family-friendly event invites guests to bring their dogs for an afternoon of fun, all while supporting local rescue organizations.

The event features a Pet Expo where attendees can meet adoptable animals from local rescue groups like Charleston Animal Society, Hallie Hill Animal Sanctuary, Carolina Coonhounds, and more. Local vendors will also be on hand, offering pet-related products and services.

My Lil’ Bubba Bar-B-Que will provide food, and DJ B-Hustle will play live music & Mike C. Guests can purchase beer and wine from FortyEight – Wine Bar & Kitchen.

Highlights of the day include a Blessing of the Animals at 3:30 p.m., followed by a Pet Costume Contest at 4:00 p.m., where pets can show off their best Halloween outfits.
