Mount Pleasant PD responds to school bus crash with injuries

MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (WCBD) – Law enforcement responded Monday to a crash that involved a school bus near the Darrell Creek subdivision.

The accident happened at the intersection of Darrell Creek Trail and Highway 17 North around 2:24 p.m. when a car rear-ended the bus. Police say students were on board at the time.

“Three have reported injuries-unknown the extent or if they will be transported at this time,” said Sgt. Ashley Croy with the Mount Pleasant Police Department.

One of the injuries appeared to be an adult with a laceration; however, police did not say whether that adult was the driver of the car or bus.

News 2 has requested additional information from the Charleston County School District.
