North Charleston police invesitgating person found dead in ditch

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – Authorities are investigating after a person was found dead in a North Charleston ditch.

Officers with the North Charleston Police Department responded to a location on Ridgeway Street shortly before noon Wednesday after receiving a report of a possible deceased person.

When police arrived, they said the person was deceased and lying on their back in the ditch.

The Charleston County Coroner’s Office will identify the individual when appropriate.
