The holidays are a time for memories, but there’s one memory – and accompanying alleges of sexual misconduct – that Butterball may like to forget.

It’s all thanks to the wild and random world of social media this bizarre story has re-emerged: PETA, or People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, conducted an undercover investigation in 2006 at a Butterball slaughterhouse in Ozark, Arkansas, PETA investigators documented that Butterball workers punched and stomped on live turkeys and violently slammed them against walls.

But wait, it gets worse..

One Butterball employee stomped on a bird’s head until her skull exploded, another swung a turkey against a metal handrail so hard that her backbone popped out, and another was seen inserting his finger into a turkey’s vagina.
