Jordyn Woods is fed up with people commenting on her body and weight.

In a TikTok video posted on Jan. 9, the 27-year-old influencer and model expressed her frustration with the harsh comments about her noticeable weight gain. She shared that she’s currently going through a challenging period in her life, including relocating and adjusting to a new routine. While she’s built resilience to weight-related criticism, Woods pointed out how people often judge others’ appearances without considering the personal struggles they may be going through.

“I haven’t been on my routine,” Woods said of readjusting to her new location. “So I’m like, happy, finally getting back on my routine. New Year, same me just better, and I finally have a kitchen again, so I can cook.”

The businesswoman and CEO also shared an experience where her comments section was flooded with harsh critiques after she wore an “ill-fitting” outfit to a recent NBA game in support of her boyfriend, Karl-Anthony Towns, who plays for the New York Knicks. While she acknowledged that the pants weren’t the best, Woods emphasized that her outfit shouldn’t give people the right to make negative comments about her weight.

“I saw a video posted and I see everyone commenting on my weight. And keep in mind, I’ve been bullied about my weight since I was 11 [or] 12 years old. I’ve talked about it a bunch. So, I have really thick skin around just all of that stuff. But like, people are so opinionated about a woman’s weight, mine fluctuates so much…I’m the type that has to work super hard for the body that I want.”

Before jumping to criticism, Woods encouraged people to pause and consider the underlying challenges a woman might be facing before commenting on her appearance. She urged for more understanding and empathy, reminding everyone that there may be more going on than meets the eye.

“Like, have you ever stopped to think, Okay, what is that person going through? Is that person able to show up every day for themselves? Are their hormones changing? Do they have something that we’re unaware of which you’re not entitled to that information either,” she continued. “And no, I am not pregnant just because I wear baggy clothes,” the superstar clarified for those wondering if she was expecting.

“I’m just a little self-conscious right now, but I just want us all to stop and think for a second, and maybe we don’t always have to comment on somebody’s body,” Woods added. “I know being on social media and being a public figure, you’re kind of entitled to that opinion, and people having their own opinions, but let’s just try to be kinder and maybe think twice before you comment on someone else’s body. Because everybody’s going through something.”

Understanding Woods’ frustration, fans of the fashionista poured messages of love and support into the comments section.

“I’ve recently lost 30 pounds and everyone is telling me how much they love my weight loss. I lost weight because I’m battling a disease and decided to keep it [to] myself. I feel you,” wrote one user.

Another TikToker penned, “Your body is legit goals.”

A third added, “You look so pretty Jordyn. People are just mean because they’re jealous.”
