1 dead following Ladson house fire

LADSON, S.C. (WCBD) – One person is dead following a Saturday evening house fire in Ladson.

Firefighters with Dorchester County Fire Rescue and Summerville Fire Rescue responded to a home on Robert Drive shortly after 6 p.m. and found smoke and fire at the back entrance.

Neighbors informed firefighters that an individual was in the house; the victim was located and given cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

Officials said the victim did not recover and died.

The house was not recoverable. An investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing.
