Southern biscuit spot opening second South Carolina location in Summerville
SUMMERVILLE, S.C. (WCBD) – A Kentucky-based brunch spot specializing in biscuits is set to open in Summerville at the beginning of February.
Biscuit Belly, self-described as “craft casual,” is bringing its scratch-made biscuits to the corner of West Richardson and Central Avenue on Feb. 4 with a grand opening celebration on Feb. 7.
During the grand opening from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., guests will get free drip coffee with a purchase and have the chance to enter giveaways. Also, the first 50 customers will have the opportunity to win free Biscuit Belly for a year.
“We fell in love with Summerville’s small-town Southern feel, which continues to draw more families every year,” said Clint Umphrey, Market Partner of Biscuit Belly Summerville. “We knew instantly this community had something special that we wanted to be a part of and share our passion for scratch-made biscuits and inventive brunch favorites with.”
The new location will feature a custom-designed mural and shimmer wall that spells “Summerville” with a palm tree and crescent moon. Local touches can be found all over the space in the form of pine trees, flowers, and sweet tea.
Menu offerings include plates like the ‘brisket biscuit’ which has smoked brisket, spicy belly pickles, and poblano-tomato sauce, or ‘The Frenchie’ a biscuit-style French toast with berry jam, whip berries, and maple syrup.
