Charleston police respond to barricaded suspect situation connected to previous incident

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – Officers in Charleston are responding to a barricaded suspect situation Friday night in connection to an earlier investigation that temporarily shut down a section of King Street.

Beechwood Road between Cedar Petal Lane and Cypress Branch Court in West Ashley is currently closed while police work the scene.

The barricaded suspect shot a vehicle downtown earlier Friday afternoon. No one was injured in the shooting.

King Street between Huger Street and Sumter Street was closed for a brief period while the Charleston Police Department completed an initial investigation.
