X (formerly Twitter) has been struggling to function properly all day

Elon Musk, the owner of X (formerly Twitter), reported a “massive cyberattack” targeting the platform on March 10, 2025. He suggested that a large group or even a nation might be responsible.

Users experienced issues accessing X, with over 40,000 reports of outages. Problems included difficulties logging in, posting, and viewing content.

During these disruptions, alternative platforms like Bluesky remained operational, offering users uninterrupted service.

Bluesky, founded by Twitter co-creator Jack Dorsey, has seen significant growth. Following the 2024 U.S. presidential election, it gained millions of users daily, reaching 15 million by November 13, 2024.

By January 2025, Bluesky’s user base expanded to 30 million.

This surge was partly due to users seeking alternatives to X amid concerns over misinformation and cyberattacks.

Why does X keep going down?

Elon Musk’s involvement in government efficiency initiatives has also drawn attention. Operating from a gaming PC in the Eisenhower Executive Office Building, he employs unconventional methods to address bureaucratic challenges.

This approach has sparked both interest and criticism. Some federal workers have formed networks like #AltGov to resist certain policies, using platforms such as Bluesky to coordinate efforts.

In reality, Elon Musk’s tenure as owner of X has been marked by challenges. This includes cyberattacks and user migration to platforms like Bluesky.

It seems that his unique approach to government efficiency continues to influence public discourse and digital landscapes.
