Quick-thinking waitresses at Summerville restaurant save child from choking incident
SUMMERVILLE, S.C. (WCBD) – A child from Summerville is thankful for the quick actions of others in saving his life during a choking incident.
Landon went out to eat at Logan’s Steakhouse with his friend and their family last weekend; at one point during the meal, Logan started choking on a piece of steak.
Two waitresses, Sadie and Ava, immediately began helping Logan and called an ambulance.
Ava began performing the Heimlich maneuver on Landon, and the piece of meat eventually came loose and went down into the child’s stomach.
“I was scared,” said Landon Breland. “I was hoping that I could stay alive, and I was grateful when I stopped choking.”
“I thank God. They told me what happened, and they said that the two waitresses, Ava and Sadie, stepped in,” said mom Jessica Breland. “I don’t know what we would do without Landon. He is my world. My kids are my world.”
Both are sharing their gratitude towards the waitresses.
